Mrs. Yin Yin Ohn, Deputy Director General of the Social Security Board (SSB) at the Ministry of Labour, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, started her career in 1988, and advanced a Director of the SSB in 2013. In 2018, she was appointed Deputy Director General of the SSB, a position she continues to the present day. Mrs. Yin Yin Ohn initiated various innovations and reforms to enhance SSB’s Vision of a Social Security Scheme covering all nations, which notably includes the Information Technology Reform of SSB. She led the establishment of financial regulations under the Social Security Law, 2012 and facilitated the provision of subsidies for insured workers through an online payment system during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
She has attended many training sessions, seminars, and webinars both locally and internationally. She participated in overseas training on the administration of a Provident Fund Board and the Social Security System in Singapore in 2003. She regularly represents SSB Myanmar at various trainings, workshops, seminars, and conferences organized by ASEAN, APIC in Japan, and similar events in Korea, India, and other ASEAN countries.
She achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Economics, specializing in Statistics, from the University of Yangon Institute of Economics in 1987. She was conferred a Diploma in English Language Proficiency from SEAMEO CHAT MYANMAR in 2015, a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Administration from GSAD Myanmar in 2016, and a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance (MBF) from the Meiktila University of Economics, Myanmar in 2021.
